Recycling, Re-Use and Re-Love

Print Friendly

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share some of the great things that have happened over the last few weeks and why the Lady Rice blog has been quite. Firstly we have moved into the new house, hooray! And we have finished painting my new office, hooray!

I now have fabulous sunny room where I can blog away to my heart’s content. We transformed the room from a ghastly brown and cream, to a sunny yellow and white.  I call it my egg room, this where I will hatch up ideas for my blog :)

Some other fantastic DIY ideas I had while unpacking was recycling vitamin jars and covering my draws.

I needed a container/holder for my make up. I was thinking about what sort of holder I was going to buy, when I looked at my finished vitamin jar that I was going to throw out into the recycle bin. I thought this would make a great holder, so I soaked it in hot water to remove the label. What do you think?

Also I had some old draws that needed recovering and since I didn’t want to use adhesive contact, I headed to Spotlight and sourced some plastic table-cover material. How cute are the white polka dots? I measured and cut it to size.  No gluing, no mess! Perfect!

A big thank you to my family for helping me with the move and a big hug to my gorgeous friends who have put up with my moving stories over the last few months. Thank you to the 2 Annas, CaAtherine, Claire, Danielle, Kellie, Laurel, Linh, Tracey, Sarah and Yildiz. And of course to the wonderful and fabulous Mr LR for making it all happen.

Next week I will be posting updates on the organic garden we are trying to build and what we will be planting.

Great recycling idea! How cute is the “egg” room! The drawer is a fantastic idea, think I’ll be copying that one and it’s much more inexpensive than drawer liners! CONGRATS!!
